That I May Love draws its title from the first verse of the hymn, “Breathe on me, Breath of God”. Its prayer-like request is that the loving nature of God bestowed on those who sing the hymn so that they may love as consistently and deeply as God does. Given human nature it seems a sensible request and one that may well be summed up in the words of Mother Theresa, when she said, “Do not think that love, to be genuine, has to be extraordinary. What we need is to love without getting tired”.
