In this evocative lyrical work, Standridge again displays his gift for writing expressive music in a uniquely individual way. Written in memory of Alyssa Ettl, a Minnesota middle school student, Snow Angels is a meditation on the fragile nature of life and the way people can come into our lives and leave an impression, much like a child making an angel in the snow. The piece maintains a gentle mood for most of its duration, but comes to a thunderous climax just before the end, signifying the majesty of snow covered mountains.
