Beethoven - Piano Sonata No. 14 c sharp minor Op. 27 No. 2 [Moonlight]
Composed in Hungary in the summer of 1801 Sonata Op 27 No 2 was later named the Moonlight Sonata by the poet Ludwig Rellstab. It is believed by some to be a solemn funeral hymn rather than the popularist view of a romantic moon-lit inspiration. Regardless, this Sonata has since become one of the most popular piano sonatas of all time. This Henle Urtext edition is edited by Bertha Antonia Wallner with fingerings by Conrad Hansen.
