Schulhoff, born in Prague in 1894 was one of the few European composers to embrace Jazz in the 1920's and 30's. A student of Debussy, Reger and Steinbach his successful career was cut short by the rise of the Nazi Party and he died in a concentration camp in 1941. This challenging works also requires an accomplished pianist.
