Yamaha has sought to offer sound engineers the purest possible audio signal and the MG range of mixers is no exception to this.
Yamaha’s renowned D-PRE discrete class-A preamps deliver a balanced tonal response with fat bass and smooth. soaring highs. Quality signal coming into the desk will make it far easier to mix later without the need for excessive EQ or effects processing to ‘fix’ the problems.
The head amp determines the sound quality, and the op-amp circuitry is one of the most important components in the head amp. MG series mixers feature MG01 op-amps that have been designed and developed with a focus on sound quality first.
The inclusion of phantom power allows you to use high-quality condenser microphones, which offer greater detail and frequency response.
The input channel with PAD switch allows for MIC to line level signals to be attenuated where necessary and avoid nasty digital clipping that can ruin a mix.
1-Knob Compressors allow you to achieve livelier guitars, punchier bass lines, tighter drums or cleaner vocals. But compression can be a tricky effect to master. The 1-Knob compression feature developed by Yamaha allow instant access to optimised compression presets via a single rotary knob. Achieve even great quality sound very quickly and easily wit this feature.
3-Band EQ and High-Pass filters are featured on all mono input channels for precision mixing.
All MG Series mixers have AUX/Effects Sends and Group sends allowing you to incorporate additional effects processors, output to recording setups or monitoring systems.
All models in the lineup feature high-quality Neutrik balanced XLR connectors on mono mic/line channels and XLR equipped stereo channels. Each mono channel can accept either MIC or LINE level signals via the combo jack. Two of the stereo inputs are equipped with XLR and two phone connectors with XLR accepting MIC level signals while two accept LINE level signals and can be used for either mono or stereo signals.
Easy-to-read LED meters allow for accurate level setting for each channel and the final mix.
