GUITAR MUSIC OF SPAIN AND LATIN AMERICA

At 70 pages in length, this book contains newly revised repertoire and arrangements that are a unique collection of over 50 guitar solos by Spanish and Latin American composers of the late 19th and early 20th century - some of whom have remained little known since their first publications from the paeriod of 100 or more years ago.

A great educational resource, it presents students with delightful repertoire carefully selected to not only introduce them to the stimulating musical styles of the genre, but to also contribute to specific aspects of musical development e.g. building confidence with reading standard notation in higher positions of the fret-board; using half and full-barre technique: and learning "new" rhythmic and melodic elements that are characteristic of the style.

It includes descriptive notes about the history of the guitar in Spain and Latin America; diagrams for reading notes in the higher postions; ans study examples of the rhythms used in this genre. The "beginner to intermediate level" ia a general term comparable with the 2nd to 5th grade stages pf public examinations.
