B B B Beginner Band Blues - Concert Band Chart Grade 0.5 by Tim Rowland is
Expertly crafted for beginner bands.
This blues chart is the ideal choice for junior ensembles. With a 12-bar blues style and only the first 5 easy notes required, it allows for a full sound while giving each player a piece of the melody.
The majority of the parts are filled with crotchets or longer notes, with the exception of quavers in the snare and cymbal parts. Plus, the "easy notes" really are simple and not the usual 5-note beginner band method notes.
Most instruments are in the concert Bb-F range, with Tenor, Horn, and Glock in concert F-C. Flutes have the option of Bb-F or F-C, while Tuba or Bass Guitar can play in Bb-F or higher in Eb-Bb (although it is not recommended to do both simultaneously). This piece also features simple dynamics, making it a great introduction to crescendo.
