Inspired after seeing the cherry blossoms in Washington, D.C., and the traditional Japanese folksong, composer Katrina Cavaliere wrote this lovely and simple song using only five pitches (Bb, C, D, F, and G) and simple quarter note and half note rhythms. The percussion section lends its support with some eighth note rhythms.
